This is my go-to app for moving elements around between XML nodes. No other app gives the visual cues that show exactly where you're placing things. Need to duplicate an element from one node? Just hold down CTRL key and drag it over. Very intuitive after the small learning curve. 3 stars due to what it doesn't have. Could really benefit from a preview pane and highlight of changes.

It's a bit quirky UI-wise, but it's a whole lot easier than a simple text editor on a big file. And of course it's free. But it spews a ton of cruft into your XML everywhere. If you're a pro, you'll use version control and you want to be able to check diffs, and XML Notepad makes this impossible for editting existing XML files. So XML Notepad is fundamentally unsuitable for anything serious.
